Upper elementary students enjoyed reading with our community members today. They are diving into such great books that many of our guests can’t wait to check them out themselves to see how the stories end! 🤩

Jostens will be here on Tuesday, February 10 at 1pm for sophomores to order class rings. Order forms are attached, pick up in office or you can order online. Parents can come to the meeting to help with ordering, if you have any questions.

Miller County R-III School District will hold kindergarten screenings and registration for the 2026-2027 school year on Friday, March 6. Any child who is or will be 5 years of age on or before July 31, 2026, is eligible to attend kindergarten next year. Screening times are from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. If you have a child who will be attending kindergarten next year at Tuscumbia, we encourage you to call 573-369-2375 and set up an appointment for screenings.

📚 Another successful Community Reading Day! Our 2nd graders were excited to read book after book to our wonderful volunteers. Thank you to everyone who shared their time and love of reading with our students—what a great day to celebrate literacy! 😊

🧬 Our Biology class has been hard at work on their “Baby Book” projects! Don’t let the cute theme fool you—each group was assigned a genetic condition and had to calculate and explain trait probabilities using Punnett squares. Hands-on learning at its best as students connect genetics concepts to real-world scenarios! 📚🔬

Next Friday night 2/13 is Senior Night for our winter sports. We will recognize our seniors for basketball and archery. The Lady Lions and Lions will be taking on Prairie Home. The girls will start the night off at 6:00pm.

Senior Night will take place in between the girls and boys games.

The Miller County R-III School District is accepting applications for the following certified positions for the 2026-27 school year: Kindergarten teacher, K-12 PE, 2nd Grade, and K-12 Library/HS ELA. The Lions came up short 55-48 against the Jamestown Eagles. They battled hard and fought to make it a close game, but just couldn’t pull ahead in the end. Proud of their effort all the way to the final buzzer! 🦁

The Lady Lions fell 57-25 to the Jamestown Lady Eagles, who are ranked #9 in Class 1. Our girls battled hard against a tough, top-ranked opponent. Keep working, Lady Lions—proud of your effort and heart! 🦁

Our amazing community showed up in a big way for the first day of our new Reading Program! With the help of dedicated community volunteers, students had the opportunity to practice reading out loud and strengthen their reading skills. We are so grateful for the support that helps our students grow and succeed!

The Lady Lions and Lions are back in action tonight at home. They will be taking on the Jamestown Eagles with the girls game starting at 6:00pm.

Our theme for tonight is Teacher Appreciation Night- We will recognize active and retired teachers during halftime. We encourage any and all teachers to show up and fill the stands tonight! Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite teachers to get in for free!

Lion Nation is incredibly thankful for our teachers and all they do for our students every single day. We could never thank them enough for their dedication, passion, and support! WE ARE LIONS! 🦁🧑‍🏫

Busy and productive Professional Development Day! 📚 Teachers kicked off the day with a staff meeting, then spent time working with the Step Up Consultant on RSPs and curriculum. Throughout the day we also met about next year’s schedules, the Wellness Committee, and MAP testing. Lots of learning, planning, and teamwork happening to support our students! 💪🍎

📚 The Book Fair is Coming! Our school Book Fair will be held February 9–13. Students were sent home with a flyer featuring a few of the exciting selections that will be available. On Friday, students will get a sneak peek at the fair and have a chance to create their wish lists.
